Buy the Molly Jacket sewing pattern from Fibre Mood. A reversible coat like the Molly, made in a quilted or padded fabric, is an item your wardrobe simply can’t do without. Molly is closed with practical snaps, has patch pockets, and the seams have a bias tape finish. Or would you rather make this loose-cut, 2-in-1 garment as a simple single-layer coat? Go for it!

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: You can’t go wrong with knits or wovens for Molly. Take your pick from cotton twill, wool/wool blends, or a padded/quilted fabric.

Fabric requirements: 110 cm wide fabric (for fabric 1 and fabric 2): 190 - 260 cm // 140 cm wide fabric (for fabric 1 and fabric 2): 125 - 200 cm.

If you are making the reversible coat, you will need the same amount of two fabrics: one for the outside, one for the inside. The requirements above show the amount required of each fabric.

Sizing: XS – XXXL (approx. UK 6 – 28/30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread; snaps, 1.5 cm diameter, 5 for XS-L or 6 for XL-XXXL; bias tape, 1.8 cm wide, 368 - 459.5 cm.

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (29 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets); projector pattern.

Note: Seam allowances are included in this pattern. The copy shop file we print for you shows the cutting lines only (not cutting lines and stitching lines) to make it easier to know what size to cut out.

Great trans seasons jacket!

Loving my Fibremood Molly jacket! It’s reversible! I used this lovely art gallery fabric and cream quilted fabric from Minerva.com. The pattern is a simple easy make and I didn’t make any alterations to it. You simple make two jackets and hold them together with bias binding. I made my own bias from a contrasting cotton with one of those great bias binding makers available in most haberdashery outlets. Putting on the binding was the hardest bit. I’m sure you can get a sewing machine foot that will make it easier but I didn’t use one! I used Kam snaps for the poppers and after puzzling how to make them reversible, realised that they are! The reverse of one side of the popper is the front of the other one. I had to try on a scrap of fabric to find this out! I know I am going to get a lot of wear out of this jacket!
