Buy the Mira Dress sewing pattern from Fibre Mood. Mira is a hip little loose-cut, A-line summer dress. Interested in something a little more form-fitting? Make the bands slightly narrower so that there’s less fabric to ruffle. Do you dream about romantic dresses? Try sewing decorative ribbons between the seams.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you'll need to download the digital instructions, as we don't print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Use a light fabric such as a cotton (either textured or with a subtle print) or go for something ultra-feminine with lace, broderie anglaise, voile, etc. Pick something white to add an extra romantic touch.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm wide fabric: 250 - 395 cm.

Sizing: EU 32 – 58 / US 0 – 26 / UK 4 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 26/28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread; 1 hook and eye; iron-on interfacing, max. 15 cm; decorative ribbons (optional), max. 350 cm.

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (32 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets).

Note: Seam allowances are included in this pattern. The copy shop file we print for you shows the cutting lines only (not cutting lines and stitching lines) to make it easier to know what size to cut out.

Mira Dress with Vintage Lace insertion

I am so excited to share this vintage lace insertion method and talk about this Mira Dress from Fibremood! I mean the possibilities for hacks are endless and I really love this dress as a base for all of that! Check out my blog below explaining how to insert lace in between the layers!

Surprise summer favourite in cotton lawn

When I made this for a Fibre Mood sewalong, I did not think that it would be a dress for me shape wise. It was some Liberty cotton lawn I had in my deep stash and didn't know what to do with even after a few years, so I figured it would do for this one. But it was a happy surprise! What worked was adding solid coloured piping between each tier to break up the print a bit.

The only thing I would change is the length, it is almost mid-thigh. By design I think it is to balance out the width and volume of the dress, but a little longer would be easier to wear. I made a second version for a friend (the pink linen one) with 5cm added to each tier to bring it to knee length and it worked out well.

Mira is one of those dresses that can be made in both a drapey fabric and one with more body. Just depends on what look you are going for!
