Suggested fabrics: Any light to medium weight woven fabric. Use rayon or viscose for a floaty top, or something like a cotton lawn for a breathable top that will be a bit easier to sew. For the flutter sleeves, a drapey fabric will work best.

Fabric requirements:

Ava - Eve: 1.4 m (55") wide fabric: 3/4 sleeves, 1.5 m (1.6 yd) // Sleeveless, 1.2 m (1.3 yd) // Frill sleeves, 1.3 m (1.4 yd) // Flutter sleeves, 1.6 m (1.7 yd).

Faye - Mia: 1.4 m (55") wide fabric: 3/4 sleeves, 2 m (2.2 yd) // Sleeveless, 1.7 m (1.9 yd) // Frill sleeves, 1.8 m (2 yd) // Flutter sleeves, 2.4 m (2.6 yd).

Sizing: Ava – Mia (approx. UK 4/6 – 28/30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Use your high bust measurement when choosing a size to get the best shoulder and neckline fit. To get your high bust measurement, measure around your body, directly under your underarms.

Notions: 10 buttons, 11.5 mm; interfacing, 90 cm x 80 cm.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4 print-at-home pattern (39 pages); US letter print-at-home pattern (43 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets). The patterns have layers so you can print just the size(s) you need.

Beautiful shirt with 4 sleeve options

I was a pattern tester for the @experimentalspace Hailey Shirt. It has options for sleeveless, 3/4 sleeve, frill and butterfly sleeves.  As well as optional shaping darts to make it as loose fitting or more shaped as you prefer.

I made a 3/4 sleeve using a check flannel and sleeveless version using a rayon, both fabrics from my stash.

I thoroughly enjoyed making both of these, the instructions are clear as always and the insides are finished beautifully with flat fell / French seams. I did bust out my overlocker when inserting the  3/4 sleeves, the fabric was too think to consider binding the seams, but there are instructions to that if you wish.

I even did my first ever FBA on the sleeveless version, in size Cee and am really happy with the resulting fit. The blue/black flannel was a Cee across the shoulder graded to a Dee at the bust and hip.

I'll definitely be making a few more of these

There are plenty of skills to be learned from this pattern's clear instructions:  yokes, pleats, button bands, collars and collar stands

Beautiful shirt with various sleeve options

I was one of the team invited to pattern test the new Hailey shirt. It was a pleasure to make and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.

I used a lightweight printed cotton from my stash with a pretty little floral print in it and made the 3/4 sleeves which look perfect rolled up to just below elbow length.

a confident beginner would have no trouble making this beautiful shirt.

Shirt with several sleeve options

I was a pattern tester for this shirt and love how it turned out. It is a very versatile pattern with 4 different sleeve options and optional darts to give lots of different looks. I picked the 3/4 length sleeves and left the darts out to give a looser fit which I think works well with my fabric choice. I love the collar shape and the pleat across the front. The instructions are very clear to follow with both written and picture instructions and I would recommend it.

Perfect shirt pattern!

Beautiful shirt pattern and so versatile with four sleeve options. I loved it so much I've made all four versions. It has a roomy feel with optional darts to front and back. A really cute pleat detail to the front. I would agree it's an intermediate pattern however, if you consider yourself an advanced beginner I think you could try tackling the sleeveless version first and work up to the more complicated sleeves as the instructions are nicely detailed. Really great pattern. My favourite version is the small frill. I will be making many more.
