Bobbins and Buttons Lewis Dress and Top

Buy the Lewis Dress and Top sewing pattern from Bobbins and Buttons. Lewis is a semi-fitted dress or top with princess seams and a choice of a button front or zip back fastening. It can be made with or without frills. The pattern comes with two frill widths and a choice of a slim 3/4 sleeve or more voluminous gathered 3/4 sleeve. The dress has pockets in the side panels. The top version features a shaped hem.

Suggested fabrics: Woven fabrics including cotton poplin, broadcloth, chambray, medium weight linen, double gauze, cotton lawn and light to medium weight blends. The top can also be made in fabrics such as viscose or lyocell.

Fabric requirements: Add an extra 60 cm for lengthways frills on your chosen garment.

Dress with slim sleeve: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 3 m (3.2 yd) // 112 cm (45″) wide fabric: 3.8 - 4.65 m (4.15 - 5 yd).

Dress with volume sleeve: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 3 m (3.2 yd) // 112 cm (45″) wide fabric: 4.4 m (4.8 yd).

Top with slim sleeve: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 2.1 m (2.3 yd) // 112 cm (45″) wide fabric: 3 m (3.2 yd).

Top with volume sleeve: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 2.2 m (2.4 yd) // 112 cm (45″) wide fabric: 3.2 m (3.5 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 22 (approx. UK 6 – 18/20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Fusible interfacing; closed end dressmaking zip or 12 mm buttons; 7 - 10 mm wide elastic for volume sleeve.
