Buy the Lynn Caftan Dress and Blouse sewing pattern from Atelier Jupe. The Lynn Caftan is the result of an inspiring collaboration between Atelier Jupe and Bel’Etoile. This dress is all about summer, with its large popover placket, wide sleeves and swirling cut. You can wear it in a loose fit, or you can fit it with a ribbon in a casing or with a belt. You’d rather make the blouse? No problem, the hemline of the blouse is clearly indicated on the pattern!

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PAPER (next working day dispatch on orders and FREE UK delivery over £50). Note for the PAPER pattern: The pattern pieces overlap and are printed on both sides of the sheet, so you will need to trace the pattern. If you prefer a ready-to-cut pattern, try the PDF or copy shop version as the pieces do not overlap.

Making my second toile

This is an easy pattern, I bought the pdf and prints. Instructions are good, just in a different format. The casing was my problem, too low, plus the first toile was completely the wrong fabric ie a viscose challis, not good on my figure, as usual I used a fabric that I did not much like. Binned that toile. Second toile is nice viscose, I raised the casing, in the right place now but just does not suit my old figure

I just spent an hour taking the casing off, to tie the belt loosely (if needed) without it being in a casing. It looks so much better and will be easier to wash and iron. I will make this pattern again, love the drafting, especially around the neck. The facing is too floppy, I think I will carefully baste it all down and stitch around the outside edge, to give it more structure

I will make more and did only take 6" off the whole length, despite me being 5`. My new longer caftan, my second toile is very nice, very cool and comfortable

Will make MORE

I‘ve found the perfect summer dress. I made it in a viscose and it’s light, cool and flattering with a light drape. The only somewhat tricky part is the popover placket. I followed a sew-along that I found online. The waist casing can be placed inside or outside. Optional belt pattern. I used a drawstring. The dress took me a day and was a fun sew. I‘m curious how it will make up in a Liberty cotton - but you can’t go wrong w/ viscose here.
