Suggested fabrics: Lightweight knit fabrics with good stretch across the grain. The fabric should have 40% stretch with good recovery. When using fabric with 40% stretch, Vielle will fit bust cups A to D. The Vielle Top was drafted using a 95% cotton 5% lycra spandex knit with a weight of 180 gsm.
Fabric requirements: Extra may be required for pattern matching/directional prints or to add length.
View 1: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: Sizes 6-12, 0.75 m (0.82 yd) // Sizes 14-24, 1 m (1.09 yd).
View 2: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: Sizes 6-12, 1.1 m (1.2 yd) // Sizes 14-24, 1.4 m (1.53 yd).
View 3: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: Sizes 6-12, 1.4 m (1.53 yd) // Sizes 14-24, 1.5 m (1.64 yd).
Sizing: UK 6 - 24. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Matching thread; ball-point or stretch sewing machine needle; 20 cm (8") length of 6 mm (1/4") wide stay tape (twill, ribbon, clear elastic, etc.).
PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (23 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet).

I fell in love with the little knot detail on the neckline of this top when I first saw the pattern; it turns an otherwise plain top into something super cute! I used a Liberty viscose jersey for mine which was lovely and soft and drapey. I cut at size 16 graded to 14 at the waist and sewed it up mostly on my overlocker. It’s a very quick make, just over a hour in total (not including cutting out). If you’re having trouble getting the perfect knot there’s a great little video on the Jennifer Lauren Handmade website - I then also invisibly tacked down the ends of the bow.
