Buy the Boatneck Top sewing pattern from The Modern Sewing Co. The Boatneck Top is a wardrobe basic that’s designed to be useful all year round. Layer it under knits in the winter or wear it on its own in warmer months. The wide neckline gives an understated elegance to what is otherwise a pared back design – simple, comfortable and classic.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Elastane blend (roughly 5-7%) or a fabric knitted with plenty of stretch. Cotton jersey, bamboo jersey, modal knit, waffle jersey (lightweight with plenty of stretch), pointelle jersey. Weight of roughly 150-250 gsm.

Fabric requirements: 

150 cm wide fabric: Sizes 4 – 12, 100 cm // Sizes 14 – 20, 120 cm // Sizes 22 – 28, 125 cm.

110 cm wide fabric: Sizes 4 – 12, 120 cm // Sizes 14 – 20, 125 cm // Sizes 22 – 28, 150 cm.

Sizing: UK 4 – 28 (approx. UK 4/6 – 26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a height of 5’8″ and a cup size ‘C’.
