Buy the Shawl Collar Coat sewing pattern from The Maker’s Atelier. This stylish coat is deceptively easy to make. It's unlined, raw-edged, and can be fastened with just a snap fastener - making it a suitable coat pattern for less experienced makers to try. But if raw edges aren’t your thing, instructions are also given for finished edges, as shown on the coats pictured.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight coat fabrics, especially melton or felted wools to allow for the raw edges.

Fabric requirements: 120 cm wide fabric: 2.5 - 3.2 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 2.4 - 2.5 m // Add 30 cm for finished hems.

Sizing: 8 – 22 (approx. UK 8 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 1 large magnetic popper/snap fastener; optional seam binding for fabrics that fray.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (52 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (3 sheets) // Layers: No // Projector file: No. Please note you must print all sizes to ensure no pieces or markings are lost.
