Buy the Sumekko Dress sewing pattern from Pattern Union. This is a clever maxi singlet dress with no side seams. It can be shaped at the waist with optional waist darts. The Sumekko Dress is designed to be hacked and personalised, and has additional length suggestions for singlet or knee length versions.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Jersey/knit fabrics with a soft drape and minimum stretch of 20%.

Fabric requirements: This pattern has no side seams and is cut on the centre front fold, so fabric must be at least 145 cm (1.6 yd) wide to accommodate the pattern. Fabric length for a long dress is 1.7 m (1.9 yd). If you wish to hack your pattern and make a shorter version, the amount of fabric is your length plus 15 cm (6″).

Sizing: 8 – 16. Please check the size chart. Select size based on either the bust or hip measurement, whichever is greater.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions (including a link to an instructional video); print-at-home A4/US letter pattern; A0 copy shop pattern. The A4/US letter pattern has layers, so you can print only the size(s) you need. There is also a handy envelope design to assist with storage and reference.
