This boy’s or girl’s classic shirt and shorts pattern features a shirt in two versions: a cuffed, long-sleeve option with a one-piece collar and chest pocket or a band collar and short sleeve option. Both styles include button front placket and shirt-tail hem. Below-the-knee length elastic-waist shorts include front pockets and mock fly.

Suggested fabrics: Shirt: light- to medium-weight woven fabrics like quilting cotton, broadcloth, lawn, shirting, poplin, fine-wale corduroy, and linen // Shorts: light- to medium-weight woven fabrics like denim, canvas, chambray, corduroy, twill, and linen.

Fabric requirements: 44″ – 45″ (112 – 114 cm) wide fabric:
6 months – 4 years: View A, 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 yards (1.4 – 1.6 m) // View B, 1 – 1 1/4 yards (0.9 – 1.2 m) // View C, 3/4 – 1 yard (0.7 – 0.9 m).

5 – 12 years: View A, 1 3/4 – 2 yards (1.6 – 1.8 m) // View B, 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 yards (1.4 – 1.6 m) // View C, 1 – 1 1/2 yards (0.9 – 1.4 m).

Sizing: 6 months – 4 years and 5 – 12 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread // Shirt: eight 3/8″ or 1/2″ buttons (six for View B), lightweight fusible interfacing // Shorts: 3/4″ wide elastic.
