Buy the TPC16 Side Drawstring Dress sewing pattern from Trend Patterns. Drawstrings were a big feature on the SS17 and AW17 catwalks, seen in New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks.

This dress mixes the drawstring trend with the sporty trend so is perfect for a casual daytime dress (made in jersey). Or wear it in the evening made in something luxe (lamé). When made in a patterned fabric, the print will be distorted by the drawstring to create an interesting, unique look.

Note: Trend Patterns are suited to a more confident maker.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight fabrics with a good bias.

Fabric requirements: 110 cm (43″) wide fabric (size 8 only): 310 cm (122″) // 120 cm (47″) wide fabric (sizes 8-14 only): 310 – 330 cm (122″ – 130″) // 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 270 – 335 cm (106″ – 132″) // 155 cm (61″) wide fabric: 260 – 320 cm (102″ – 126″).

Sizing: UK 8 – 22. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements. Note: Does not include size 6.

Notions: Fusing, 85 cm x 90 cm wide; concealed zip, 41 cm (the sample dress in jersey was made without a zip). You could buy a pre-made drawstring/tie.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4 print-at-home pattern (66 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (4 sheets).
