Buy the Pippa Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. The Pippa Dress features an asymmetrical design with a line of buttons going down the front. These are just for decoration – no buttonholes needed – so you can have fun button-hunting, without worrying too much about the size. Use larger ones for a statement detail, or keep them small for a more delicate look. You could also leave the buttons off completely and catch-stitch the bodice instead.

Shaping is provided by bust darts on the front bodice and waist darts on the back bodice, creating a beautiful fitted silhouette. The dress closes with an invisible zip on the side, and the neckline is finished neatly with binding.

Choose between a mini, midi or maxi length, and sew the skirt closed or leave a sassy slit (perfect for the maxi version!). There are also three sleeve styles to choose from so you can sew a Pippa Dress for any season: short, 3/4 length or a full-length bell sleeve with elastic at the hem.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight fabrics with lots of drape, such as rayon, viscose and crepe.

Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements are for the bell sleeve. You will need 10 cm less for the 3/4 length sleeve and 30 cm less for the short sleeve (all sizes).

Version 1: 1.15 m wide fabric (sizes 6-14 only): 4.7 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 4.3 – 4.5 m.

Version 2: 1.15 m wide fabric: 3.8 – 4.1 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 3.4 – 3.7 m.

Version 3: 1.15 m wide fabric: 3 – 3.4 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 2.8 – 3.1 m.

Sizes 18 – 30

Version 1: 1.40 m wide fabric: 4.8 – 5.3 m.

Version 2: 1.40 m wide fabric: 4.2 – 4.5 m.

Version 3: 1.40 m wide fabric: 3.4 – 3.7 m.

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is split into two different blocks. The 6 – 20 size range is drafted for a B cup. The 18 – 30 size range is drafted for a D cup.
