Sew Over It Margot Dress

Buy the Margot Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. This woven raglan dress is shaped by front and back darts in the skirt, back and shoulder darts in the bodice, plus stylish French darts at the front to complement the raglan sleeves.

Version 1 has 3/4-length bell sleeves, and the skirt hits below the knee. Version 2 is a mini dress with full-length sleeves, which have a dart at the hem to create a gentle lantern shape. The dress closes with an invisible zip on the side, and the bodice is fully lined for a neat finish.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight woven fabrics such as viscose, crepe, chiffon. You could also use a cotton for Version 2 for a more structured version.

Fabric requirements: The fabric calculations include only a 10 cm buffer to avoid fabric wastage. The calculations include enough fabric for the bodice lining in self. If you wish to line it in another fabric, you will need 1 m of your chosen lining fabric.

Sizes 6 – 20

Version 1: 1.15 m wide fabric: 3.0 - 3.7 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 2.3 - 2.8 m.

Version 2: 1.15 m wide fabric: 2.3 - 3 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 2 - 2.3 m.

Sizes 18 – 30

Version 1: 1.15 m wide fabric: 4.1 - 4.6 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 3.4 - 3.8 m.

Version 2: 1.15 m wide fabric: 3.6 - 4.1 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 2.5 - 3.3 m.

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is split into two different blocks. The 6-20 size range is drafted for a B cup. The 18-30 size range is drafted for a D cup.
