Suggested fabrics: Lightweight woven fabrics. For a more fluid drape and flowing fit, use fabrics such as tencel, lyocell, rayon, and crepe de chine. For a more structured, boxy fit, use shirting fabrics such as linen, chambray, poplin, and voile.
Fabric requirements:
Top: 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 1 3/4 - 3 1/2 yd (1.6 - 3.2 m) // 54" (150 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/2 - 2 3/4 yd (1.4 - 2.5 m).
Dress: 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/4 - 5 yd (2.5 - 4.6 m) // 54" (150 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/4 - 4 yd (2 - 3.7 m). Note: The dress in size 30 requires fabric with a width greater than 45" (115 cm).
Sizing: US 0 – 30 with B, C and D cups (approx. UK 6/8 – 30/32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements. Choose your size based on your high bust measurement.
A note from the designer about bust cup options: To select the proper size, first select the size that corresponds with your high bust measurement, then find the cup size according to this general rule: If the difference between your high bust and full bust measurements is 1″ – 2″ (2.5 cm – 5 cm), you will sew the B cup; 2″ – 3″ (5 cm – 7.5 cm), you will sew the C cup; 3″ – 4″ (7.5 cm – 10 cm), you will sew the D cup. For a difference less than 1" (2.5 cm) a small bust adjustment (SBA) may be needed. For a difference greater than 4" (10 cm) an additional FBA may be required.
Refer to the finished garment measurements chart to verify that the finished bust measurement is approximately 3" (7 cm - 8 cm) greater than your full bust measurement for a comfortable fit in the bust, based on your personal fit preferences.
Notions: 4 buttons (1/2" diameter recommended); 1 sew-on snap closure set (size 1/0); approx. 1 yd (1 m) of fusible lightweight interfacing (choose interfacing weight to coordinate with fabric weight).
