Suggested fabrics: Rayon twill or crepe, Tencel/lyocell twill, linen, linen blend, cotton, lightweight wool, midweight wool, heavy wool, corduroy, denim, silk, satin.

These trousers will have a completely different look depending on the fabric you choose. The designer recommends fabric with a good drape that doesn’t grow as you work with it or wear it. A light, drapey fabric will look lovely and flowy. A midweight cotton/linen will look relaxed and cool. Or you can choose a mid to heavyweight for a chic winter pant. If using a lightweight fabric, you can use your main fabric for the pocket lining.

Fabric requirements:

Main: 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 2.8 - 5.3 yd (2.6 - 4.8 m) // 58" (150 cm) wide fabric: 2.8 - 3.6 yd (2.6 - 3.3 m).

Pocket lining: 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 1 yd (0.9 m) // 58" (150 cm) wide fabric: 0.5 - 1 yd (0.5 - 0.9 m).

Sizing: 00 – 30 (approx. UK 6/8 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Zipper; button (approx. 3/4" diameter); light woven interfacing; double fold bias tape the length of your waist (only if using thick material or making the clean-finish waistband).

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (34 pages for sizes 00-16 or 43 pages for sizes 00-30); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets for sizes 00-14 or 3 sheets for sizes 00-30) // Layers: Yes // Projector file: Yes.

Gorgeous pattern

This was my first attempt at making pants and I was shocked at how well they turned out. The instructions are very clear and straightforward; in particular I was anxious about doing the fly front but the way the pattern developer laid it out made it quite easy. I made a size 4 with no adjustments and they fit perfectly; they are probably pretty forgiving in terms of fit because the cut is so relaxed everywhere besides the waist. I've also now made a few pairs in different fabrics and the pattern appears to be pretty versatile. I highly recommend!
