Buy the Dila Blouse and Dress sewing pattern from Notches. Dila is a versatile piece which you can make as a blouse or as a long or short dress. The pattern has three neckline options: round, square and v-neck. There are also three sleeve options: a long lantern sleeve with decorative pleats, a short sleeve with one pleat, and a sleeveless version. The bodice features gathers with decorative trim that echoes the sleeve pleats. Dila has a back slit and button closure, though this is only necessary for the high round neckline.

Suggested fabrics: Choose light to medium-weight fabrics that gather well. Thick fabrics are not suitable for this pattern. Easy to sew fabrics such as cotton poplin, linen, or a thin woollen fabric are good choices, especially since they will hold the structure of the sleeve. Supple fabrics like viscose are also ideal for a more draped effect, especially for the short sleeve and sleeveless versions. The long lantern sleeve will flow a little more with a supple fabric.

Sizing: EU 34 – 56 (approx. UK 6 – 28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Fusible interfacing, 90 cm wide, max. 50 cm; one button, 12 mm diameter; bias binding for sleeveless variants, 20 mm wide, max. 135 cm.
