Buy the Taimi Dress and Top sewing pattern from Named. Taimi is a fashionably simple garment that includes a top and a dress variation. Both variations feature a voluminous gathered hem, and a round neckline and armholes that are finished with binding. The top is hip-length, and slightly longer in the back. The dress waist seam is curved, its hemline comes down to the ankle, and it has handy in-seam side pockets.

Suggested fabrics: For both variations, choose a non-stretch, lightweight or medium-weight fabric. Depending on the desired result, you can choose either a more drapey, or a more rigid fabric.

Fabric requirements: The fabric requirements include a 5% allowance for shrinkage. Note that the fabric consumption may be greater for fabrics with a pattern and for fabrics that need to be cut in one direction.

Dress including bindings: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 275 – 305 cm (3 – 3 3/8 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric (sizes 32-38 only): 275 – 280 cm (3 yd).

Dress without bindings: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 250 – 305 cm (2 3/4 – 3 3/8 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric (sizes 32-38 only): 275 cm (3 yd).

Top including bindings: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 110 – 160 cm (1 1/4 – 1 3/4 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric (sizes 32-38 only): 120 – 135 cm (1 1/4 – 1 1/2 yd).

Top without bindings: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 105 – 160 cm (1 1/8 – 1 3/4 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric (sizes 32-38 only): 105 cm (1 1/8 yd).

Sizing: EU 32 – 56 (approx. UK 6 – 28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Optional: 4 cm (1 5/8″) pre-made bias binding, 235 cm (2 5/8 yd).

Cut the binding lengths from your fabric as suggested in the cutting plan, or use a pre-made binding. If you are cutting the bindings from your fabric, follow the first fabric requirement table (including bindings). If you are using a ready-made binding, see the lower table for the fabric requirement (without bindings).
