Buy the Lily Mini Tote Basket sewing pattern from Lasenby Patterns. This is a wonderfully handy organiser with oodles of pockets on the outside. Perfect for crafts, beauty products, essential oils, etc. Putting a glass mason jar into the centre of the basket is great for scissors and taller items. There are two sizes to choose from: mini and midi. The midi basket is a little taller than the mini; the base and tie handles are the same.

Suggested fabrics: 

Fabric 1 (main outer fabric): Natural fabrics. Light/medium weight canvas, linen, Tana lawn, quilting cotton, twill, thin tweed.

Fabric 2 (lining fabric): Can be the same as Fabric 1. Natural fabrics. Light/medium weight. Tana lawn, cotton, linen, bamboo, quilting cotton, twill, canvas, drill.

Fabric 3 (interlining fabric, optional): Natural fabrics. Cambric cotton, muslin, calico, quilting cotton.

Fabric 6 (wadding): Dense quilting. Bamboo, cotton, wool.

Fabric 7 (optional): Buckram stiffener. If you don’t have buckram, you can improvise with three layers of medium interfacing.

Fabric requirements: The lengths are generous for some of the fabrics (quantities rounded up).

Fabric 1: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: Mini, 25 cm (10″) // Midi, 25 cm (10″).

Fabric 2: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: Mini, 50 cm (20″) // Midi, 50 cm (20″).

Fabric 3: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: The same length as the fabric piece(s) you are interlining.

Fabric 6: 115 cm (44″) wide wadding: Mini, 25 cm (10″) // Midi, 25 cm (10″).

Fabric 7: 115 cm (44″) wide buckram: 10 cm (4″).

Sizing:

Mini: W 10 cm x H 12 cm (approx. 4″ x 4 1/2″). Pockets H 10 cm (approx. 4″).

Midi: W 10 cm x H 16 cm (approx. 4″ x 6″). Pockets H 14 cm (approx. 5 1/2″).

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4 print-at-home pattern (12 pages); US letter print-at-home pattern (11 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet).
