Buy the Gaston Jacket sewing pattern from I AM Patterns. I am a jersey jacket with six versions, both classic and casual. I can be sewn with a shirt collar or with a simple round neckline. You can choose to make me with large patch pockets, welt pockets or without pockets. I fasten with five press-studs. I have a facing on the inside for a clean finish, and long fitted sleeves that are finished with a single folded hem.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight knit fabrics: sweatshirt, quilted jersey, faux-fur jersey…

Fabric requirements: 

A, B and C: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 160 – 200 cm (1 3/4 – 2 1/4 yd) // 110 cm (43″) wide fabric: 225 – 240 cm (2 1/2 – 2 5/8 yd).

D, E and F: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 155 – 195 cm (1 3/4 – 2 1/8 yd) // 110 cm (43″) wide fabric: 215 – 225 cm (2 3/8 – 2 1/2 yd).

Sizing: EU 34 – 52 (approx. UK 6 – 18, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a height of 5’5″ and a B cup.

Notions: Five 15 mm (5/8″) snap fasteners // For welt pockets: interfacing, 20 cm x 40 cm (8″ x 16″) // Optional: 4.5 m (5 yd) of 1 cm (3/8″) bias binding to finish welt pockets, assembled facing and bottom of garment.
