Nice blouse but tricky collar

There is a lot to like about this pattern. It has no darts or yokes so the fabric pattern is not disrupted. The shape is boxy but I extended the length of the body 10 cm to get the size I wanted. I've made it in three fabrics and I am pleased with how they all worked. The red one is a thick shirting. I've also made it in a lighter cotton and in a viscose with long sleeves.

The problem with the pattern is the collar. It's really tricky. I'm not sure I can get a better finish on it, and it takes away from the quality of the final blouse. From the other reviews, it sounds like this is a common problem. Much as I like the fit of this pattern, I may find another pattern so I can  produce better garments.

Great shirt - please include seam allowance!

Great boxy shirt. I was using embroidery anglaise with a boarder, which I want to preserve, the lack of dart made this possible. The shirt comes up large.

I did follow the instructions, it was a very simple sew. It came together well and I did not hit any issues.

one issue I have is that the seam allowance had to be added. Why? If fiber mode included them surely it would not be more accurate for the sewer.

Really lovely blouse

This is a really lovely comfortable blouse, and a pleasure to wear. I choose to print off a PDF pattern but found it quite hard to work out which size line to follow, it appears you have to cut the next straight line outside of your pattern choice, which was quite time consuming. The instructions were quite good, but the collar was very tricky to do, and could have been explained a little bit better. I found I had to trim the collar seams to make it lie better and also trim the corners which was not mentioned in the instructions. Otherwise the pattern was good to follow, but I think beginners should avoid trying this one out just yet. Overall though, now I have a pattern cut out which fits, and I have worked the collar construction out I will definitely make several more of these.

Secret Summer PJs

I really enjoyed making this - from start to finish it took about 4 hours, making it a very satisfying Sunday Sew.

The collar was a challenge, I didn’t understand what the instructions meant to do and I was puzzled for a while!! I may have skipped a step and stitched in the ditch when I wasn’t meant to??

Overall, this blouse is not perfect but it’s not awful for my first attempt! ? I sized down from a L to M, which I am glad I did - L would have been a little too oversized for me. That said, I am a fan of boxy, loose shape and sleeves - it is so comfy!

This fabric brings cheer and happy vibes, just what I need in my wardrobe to inspire me for brighter, sunnier days ahead. The fabric is so light and floaty, I imagine it will be perfect for long hot summer days in the office work and evening picnics. Also, it will go with anything denim and even if it’s cloudy, this will definitely brighten the day ? ? ☀️?
