Buy the Elio Top sewing pattern from Allie Olson. The Elio Top is a fitted knit top with a faux wrap silhouette. The neckline is finished with narrow elastic that allows the bodices to lay flush against the body. The hem is finished with fold over elastic that creates a smooth fit under high-waisted pants and skirts. Three sleeve lengths (cap, elbow, and long) make this design ideal for year-round wear.

Suggested fabrics: The Elio Top should be sewn using mid-weight stable knit fabrics with lots of stretch and recovery. Cotton/spandex fabric is ideal. The fabric should have at least 50% four-way stretch. Fabrics weighing 9-12 oz/yd² are recommended. Lightweight knit fabrics are not recommended for this design.
Fabric requirements: Additional fabric may be required for directional prints or print matching.
Sizes 0 – 18 / B cup
45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/2 – 3 yd (2.3 – 2.7 m).
54″ (137 cm) or wider fabric: 1 3/4 – 2 yd (1.6 – 1.8 m).
Sizes 12 – 30 / D cup
45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 3 – 3 1/2 yd (2.7 – 3.2 m).
54″ (137 cm) or wider fabric: 2 1/2 – 2 3/4 yd (2.3 – 2.5 m).
Sizing: US 0 – 18 / B cup and US 12 – 30 / D cup (approx. UK 8 – 18/20 and UK 14 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.
This design is drafted for a height of 5’6″ (167.6 cm) with several inches of negative ease. The designer recommends choosing a size based on your bust measurements and grading at the waist and/or hips as necessary. If your measurements fall between sizes, choose the next size down.
Notions: 2 yd (1.8 m) of 3/8″ (1 cm) elastic for wrap bodices; 2 yd (1.8 m) of 5/8″ (1.5 cm) fold over elastic for hem; 1 1/2 yd (1.4 m) of 3/8″ (1 cm) clear elastic to stabilise side seams.
