Buy the Edda Dress sewing pattern from Fibre Mood. This casual, yet graceful oversized dress has a lovely jewel neck, dropped shoulders, balloon sleeves, and hidden side seam pockets. As an extra detail, Edda has buttons at the shoulder, but there’s no need to worry about making buttonholes. Instead, make loops with ribbon or cord. This project calls for a little care, but the happiness you’ll feel when it’s complete makes it more than worth it. Edda is perfect for hacking. Even a sleeveless version is sure to look a treat.

Suggested fabrics: Gathers are key for this dress. This is a good reason to go with an airy fabric like gauze, poplin, or another lightweight cotton. Basically, with cotton you can’t go wrong. It retains structure, doesn’t absorb heat, and absorbs moisture. Linen is also a top choice since it will help you stay extra cool on hot summer days.

Fabric requirements: 110 cm wide fabric: 310 – 385 cm // 140 cm wide fabric: 290 – 320 cm.

Sizing: XS – XXXL (approx. UK 6 – 28/30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and pattern measurements.

Notions: Thread; iron-on interfacing, max. 20 cm; ribbon or cord for the shoulder loops, ± 30 cm (optional); 5 buttons, 1.1 cm diameter; sheet of paper; double-sided tape.
