Buy the Children’s Portobello Pocket Dress sewing pattern from Greyfriars and Grace. The Portobello Pocket Dress is a gorgeous dress with a relaxed fit, fully lined bodice, two large side pockets and a button back closure. Don’t like making buttonholes, no problem! This pattern also includes the environmentally friendly option to use an old shirt and its button placket.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Cotton, linen or cotton/linen blend fabric for dress and lining.

Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements are for non-directional prints. If you need to pattern match, you may need more fabric.

44″ (115 cm) or 54″ (140 cm) wide fabric: Bodice and pockets, 1/2 – 3/4 yd (0.5 – 0.75 m) // Skirt, 1 – 1 1/2 yd (1 – 1.5 m) // Bodice and pocket lining, 1/2 – 3/4 yd (0.5 – 0.75 m).

60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: Bodice and pockets, 1/2 – 3/4 yd (0.5 – 0.75 m) // Skirt, 1/2 – 1 1/2 yd (0.5 – 1.5 m) // Bodice and pocket lining, 1/2 – 3/4 yd (0.5 – 0.75 m).

A large adult shirt if using an existing shirt. Note sizes over 5 years will need an XXL or plus size (17″+ collar) shirt – the bigger the better.

Sizing: 2 – 10 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 3 buttons/snaps, or button strip from a large adult shirt.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (8 pages); A2 copy shop pattern (1 sheet). This pattern only includes printable pieces for the bodice. The skirt and pocket pieces are rectangles, which you draw yourself using the measurements provided.
