Buy the Blanca Flight Suit sewing pattern from Closet Core Patterns. The Blanca Flight Suit is a semi-fitted, highly customisable boiler suit pattern inspired by vintage workwear. With multiple sleeve and leg options, it can be made in a variety of fabrics and can easily be styled up or down.

Blanca features a centre front zipper, patch pockets that double as belt loops, an optional tie belt or buckled belt, a traditional shirt collar and a unique pleated back design. Customise your flight suit by adding a long sleeve, tapered sleeve with snap button, or short sleeve. The leg is cut straight, with the option to crop it or taper it at the hem with a leg tab. In addition, choose between a classic breast patch pocket or zippered pocket for added detail.

Suggested fabrics: For a structured look, use sturdy woven fabrics like denim, twill, canvas and mid to heavyweight linen and cotton. For a softer effect, choose mid-weight fabrics with drape, such as tencel twill, cupro or silk noil.

45″ (1.14 m) wide fabric: View A (Long sleeves and legs): Sizes 0-8 = 4 yd (3.75 m) / Sizes 10-14 = 4.25 yd (3.9 m) / Sizes 16-20 = 4.75 yd (4.3m) // View B (Short sleeves and cropped legs): Sizes 0-8 = 3.5 yd (3.2 m) / Sizes 10-14 = 4 yd (3.75 m) / Sizes 16-20 = 4.5 yd (4.1 m).

58″ (1.5 m) wide fabric: View A (Long sleeves and legs): Sizes 0-8 = 3 yd (2.75 m) / Sizes 10-14 = 3.25 yd (3 m) / Sizes 16-20 = 3.5 yd (3.2 m) // View B (Short sleeves and cropped legs): Sizes 0-8 = 2.5 yd (2.3 m) / Sizes 10-14 = 3 yd (2.75 m) / Sizes 16-20 = 3.25 yd (3 m).

Sizing: 0 – 20 (approx. UK 6 – 20). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Medium weight fusible interfacing (0.5 yd/m of 45″ wide interfacing); pocket lining (0.25 yd/m); polyester thread in matching colour; non-separating zipper (Use metal teeth for sturdy fabrics and plastic for lighter weight fabrics. Please note a longer zipper may be used and trimmed to size. A separating zipper can also be used if properly closed with a bar tack. Sizes 0-4=20″, Sizes 6-14=22″, Sizes 16-20=24″); point turner for collar // Optional: Topstitching thread in contrast colour; two 5″ non-separating zippers for zippered breast pockets; two 1/2″ snap buttons for optional tapered sleeve; four 5/8″ regular buttons for optional tapered pant hem tab; 1.5″ buckle closure for optional buckle belt.
