Suggested fabrics: Use medium-weight or bottom-weight knit fabric with approx. 50% horizontal and vertical stretch. Keep in mind that drapey fabric will result in a longer skirt, so plan accordingly. Interlock, matte jersey, jersey and ITY knit are good choices.

Skirts with no centre seam: 58″ (148 cm) wide fabric: Straight, 3/4 yd (70 cm) // A-line, 3/4 – 1 3/8 yd (70 – 120 cm) // Ruffled, 1 – 1 3/8 yd (90 – 120 cm) // Single flounced, 1 1/4 – 1 5/8 yd (110 – 140 cm) // Double flounced, 1 5/8 – 2 yd (140 – 180 cm) // Handkerchief, 1 3/4 – 2 1/8 yd (160 – 190 cm) // Maxi, 2 1/8 yd (190 cm).

Bias skirts with centre seams: 58″ (148 cm) wide fabric: Straight, 1 1/8 – 1 1/4 yd (100 – 110 cm) // A-line, 1 1/8 – 1 1/4 yd (100 – 120 cm) // Ruffled, 1 1/4 – 1 1/2 yd (110 – 130 cm) // Single flounced, 1 1/4 – 1 5/8 yd  (110 – 140 cm) // Double flounced, 1 5/8 – 1 7/8 yd (140 – 170 cm) // Maxi, 2 3/8 – 2 3/4 yd (210 – 250 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 1 1/2″ (4 cm) wide knit elastic as long as your waist; a 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ (3.8 cm x 3.8 cm) piece of lightweight, non-stretch woven fabric.
