Buy the Baby/Child I Dig Dungarees sewing pattern from Waves & Wild. This is a traditional 'bib and braces' dungaree (overall) pattern. The pattern has options for long legs, shorts and a skirt. You can choose between traditional clips and stud buttons, or regular buttons and buttonholes.

Suggested fabrics: Bottom weight fabric such as denim or twill. You will get the best results using fabric with at least 10% stretch (around 20% is ideal). However, you can use fabric with little to no stretch. You can also use thinner fabrics such as quilting cotton, chambray, etc. for a lighter summer garment.

Fabric requirements: 

Main fabric: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: Full length legs, 60 - 200 cm (5/8 - 2 1/4 yd) // Shorts or skirt, 60 - 150 cm (5/8 - 1 5/8 yd).

Optional: You may choose to use a contrasting/lighter fabric for your inner waistband. You will need a maximum of 9 cm (3 1/2").

Sizing: 0-3 months - 12 years. Please check the size chart.

Notions: Medium or light fusible interfacing, maximum 20 cm (1/4 yd); 4 stud buttons and 2 dungaree clips (32 mm/1 1/4" dungaree clips for age 3 and younger, 38 mm/1 1/2" dungaree clips for age 4 and older) OR 6 or 8 regular buttons (15-25 mm/5/8"-1" are ideal); 7-21 snaps (snap crotch option only).

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/legal/letter print-at-home pattern (27 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can print just the sizes(s) you need.
