Buy the Atenas Jacket sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. The Atenas Jacket is a classic denim jacket. The denim jacket we know and love was released by Levi Strauss in 1953, and since then it has remained relatively unchanged. You can’t get more timeless than that. It means once you make the Atenas, you will wear it for years, and it won’t go out of style. The Atenas has all the classic details. While you are welcome to implement each and every one of them – chest pockets with flaps, single-welt pockets, flat-felled seams and topstitching – you are also welcome to simplify and omit any of them. Regardless of your preference, the pattern instructions will walk you through every step of the way!

Additional features include front double princess seams, front and back yokes, optional buttoned side tab at bottom band, slightly dropped shoulders, two-piece sleeve and a functional sleeve vent with buttoned cuff. This pattern includes options for A, B, C, D and DD cups.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). Choose A, B and C cup sizes, or D and DD cup sizes. What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Primary fabric: Stable, medium-weight woven fabric with a crisp drape, such as denim, twill or broadcloth. Keep in mind that if you choose to use flat-felled seams, the fabric can get quite thick, so choose your fabric accordingly if your sewing machine cannot handle thick layers. // Lining: Stable, non-stretch woven fabric, such as quilting cotton. The lining is for the pockets.

Fabric requirements: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: Main, 2 1/8 – 2 1/4 yd (1.9 – 2.1 m) // Lining, 1/4 yd (0.2 – 0.3 m) // Most natural fibres shrink in the wash; be sure to have enough fabric. These requirements assume the fabric is already pre-shrunk.

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

A note from the designer about bust cup options: To determine your cup size, subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.

Notions: Fourteen (ten if omitting side tabs) 0.67″ (17 mm) jean buttons and tool to install them (usually just a hammer); medium-weight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing; topstitching thread.

PDF pattern includes: Digital pattern compatible with both US letter and A4 paper sizes; A0 (copy shop) file; step-by-step illustrated instructions. The layers feature allows you to select your size before printing.
