Buy the Arthur Pants sewing pattern from Sew Liberated. This whimsical pant reimagines a wardrobe staple: casual pants with a uniquely fun shape.

A collaboration with designer Debra Weiss of Specks & Keepings, the Arthur Pants combine the classic comfort of wide-legged pants with dramatically shaped side seams and a tapered hem. The fit is relaxed, with plenty of ease, a high waist, a lowered crotch, and roomy pockets. View A has a zipper fly with an elastic back waist. View B has a full elastic waist.

Versatile and appropriate to any season, the Arthur Pants will become a key part of your sustainable wardrobe. They pair well with the Strata Top, or underneath a Hinterland or Metamorphic Dress.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: The Arthur Pants are designed for mid-weight woven fabrics, such as linen, gabardine, silk noil, lightweight twill, or cotton chambray. If you make the elastic waist version, you can also choose knit fabrics, such as French terry, interlock, or mid-weight jersey.

Do not choose fabrics that have significant drape. You want enough body to support the shape of the pant leg.

Fabric requirements: 45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 3.6 yd (3.3 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 3.4 yd (3.1 m).

Sizing: US 0 – 30 (approx. UK 6/8 – 28/30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a height of 5’7″. The waistband sits at the natural waist, and the hem falls just above the ankle bone.
