The 215 Empire Dress sewing pattern from Folkwear. This high-waisted dress known today as “empire” was worn in the period following the French Revolution in the late 1700s. The revealing style, requiring few undergarments, reflected a desire to return to simpler, classical Grecian dress after the excesses of the European nobility. The narrow bodice is gathered into a skirt that is slim in front and full in back. The optional full-length train and sleeve details make it perfect for a bridal fashion.

Please note: This pattern can only be purchased directly from the designer. It is not for sale. For the full range of Folkwear PDF patterns we sell, take a look at our shop.
