SEWING PATTERNS FOR MATCHING WITH YOUR MINI ME

SEWING PATTERNS FOR MATCHING WITH YOUR MINI ME
Kate Underdown

Twinning is winning! If you love to sew your own clothes and have kids, you might be tempted to make matching outfits for you and your mini-me! We have hunted down a fabulous selection of women’s indie sewing patterns that have co-ordinating mini patterns for makers who love to match! It’s such a fun way to use a length of fabric and to show little ones how great sewing your own clothes is!

We’ve found casual patterns for everyday wear, playful pieces for adventures and lovely frocks that would be perfect for special occasions. Some of the patterns have teen size ranges, which would be ideal if you’re getting bigger kids into sewing… you could make the same pattern together! Ok, the idea of matching might horrify some older kids… but the beauty of dressmaking is that you can make one pattern look so different depending on the fabrics you each choose! I hope you have fun browsing this post!

Greyfriars and Grace Nova Scotia Skirt

The Nova Scotia Skirt by Greyfriars and Grace is a simple design so you can have fun picking your fabric (matching your lampshade is optional but recommended). This pattern could totally reinvent redundant curtains found in thrift stores or that were too good to let go of and would be great for showing children how you can give fabrics a new lease of life. The quality and thickness of the material are often great and you will be saving it from landfill. This skirt has a flat front and an elastic back waistband making it comfortable to wear and easy to sew (no buttons or zip) yet looking stylish. You can choose from four length options: short, knee, midi/mid-calf and tea length, so aren’t short of variations!
