Buy the Nova Scotia Skirt sewing pattern from Greyfriars and Grace. The Nova Scotia Skirt is a simple design so go crazy on the fabric! This skirt has a flat front and an elastic back waistband making it comfortable to wear and easy to sew (no buttons or zip) yet looking stylish. The pattern includes four length options: short, knee, midi/mid-calf and tea length.

Suggested fabrics: Cotton or linen work best but any fabric can be used. Great for fabulous printed cottons. Redundant cotton and/or linen curtains bought online or from thrift stores can make lovely skirts. The quality and thickness of the material is often great and you will be saving it from landfill.

Fabric requirements: 44″ (115 cm) wide fabric (sizes XXS-6XL only): 2 – 2 1/2 yd (2 – 2.5 m) // 54″ (140 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/4 – 2 1/2 yd (1.25 – 2.5 m) // 60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/4 – 2 1/2 yd (1.25 – 2.5 m).

Fabric requirements are for non-directional prints. If you need to pattern match, you may need more fabric. Fabric requirements are for the longest skirt length and will be less for shorter skirts.

Sizing: XXS – 10XL / UK 6 – 34. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 1″ (2.5 cm) wide elastic; interfacing (not essential).

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter print-at-home pocket pattern (2 pages); A4 print-at-home pocket pattern (1 page). This pattern only includes a printable piece for the pocket. The other pattern pieces are rectangles, which you draw yourself using the measurements provided. Does not include an A0 copy shop file.
