Sew Reporter – 19 May
Happy Sunday, we hope you’ve had a fantastic week and ready for your weekly update from the world of sewing. On the blog this weekend we have the sew down where Kate talks through interesting things we’ve seen, listened to and sewn over the last month. Grab a hot beverage sit back and enjoy.
Zoe of So, Zo.. What Do You Know? has used some left over fabric from her stash to make herself another Tilly and the Buttons Cleo pinafore! We love the look of the broken twill denim, and the pocket with rounded corners!
Some lovely stripey inspiration from Manju at SewManju! This shirt dress is the Simplicity 8014 pattern and it makes the perfect summer dress!
All the heart eyes for this stunning dress! Debbie from Lily Sage & Co stitched the Lois Dress from Tessuti Fabrics and used a beautiful silk crepe de chine for it. Ohh these colours!!!
Rachel from Rach against the Sewing Machine was incredibly quick in stitching these Yanta overalls which were only released 2 weeks ago by Helen’s Closet! Rachel looks absolutely brilliant and these overalls are definitely a keeper!
Imagine looking this amazing when lounging at the beach! Sara at The Sara Project used Grainline Studio’s Linden Sweatshirt for the top, and True Bias’ Hudson Pants jogger pattern for the bottoms. We now want to cover ourselves in French Terry too!
Isn’t Holly of That’s so Peachy looking jaw dropping gorgeous in her Orageuse Lisboa dress?! Just look at that beautiful low V shape at the back! This dress is ready to party!
The pinafore trend isn’t going anywhere and we are digging it! Nicole at Merritts Makes made the York pinafore by Helen’s closet and styled it with a lovely bright tee. This is pinafore perfection!
Yasss to all the stripes! We’re pretty sure Katie of Katie Kortman is dancing because this fabric and the Simplicity S8888 dress pattern are a match made in heaven!
Adelle from Button & Pip used a scuba knit for her Deer and Doe Sirocco jumpsuit! This looks extremely chic and oh so comfortable at the same time! What a great outfit!
Sarah of Like Sew Amazing has made a jersey Bettine dress by Tilly and the Buttons and we could not love it more! It’s stretchy, it’s maxi and we will never say no to an animal print!

These gorgeous double gauzes are available from Higgs and Higgs in lots of different colours and they’re all sprinkled with little golden dots. What’s not to love?
Anyone else in LOVE with the new designs from Lady McElroy? Snap these 'artistic faces' up from Lamazi Fabrics!
How gorgeous is this Paris themed cotton from Sew Me Sunshine! The illustrations and colours used for this design are amazing!
This beautiful monochrome flowery fabric is a medium weight cotton from Fabrics Galore and it would make such a stunning maxi dress!
This modern abstract painterly design by Nani Iro is printed on a lightly textured linen and is available from The Draper's Daughter!
Sewing with French Terry is one of our favourite things to do. It’s so easy to work with and when it has a very cool print like this one from Cotton Reel Studio, it's all we ever want!
Go bold or go home with these fabulous flowery stretch satins from Fabric Godmother!
We are obsessed with the new collection from Pink Coat Club and we've got our eyes on this cute little heart brooch. It’s actually available in two types of wood, but we can’t choose a favourite…
This cute little pair of scissors from Beyond Measure is the cutest! These would make cutting all those little threads from your freshly sewn garment a whole lot more fun!
We totally dig this unique ‘broken’ zig zag chevron design with feather shapes in black on a cafe colour. It's a Ponte Di Roma knit which we spotted at Girl Charlee.
YES to these jungle cats! This super cool printed cotton is from Cloth Candy, and it’s an organic cotton too!
There are only a few days left to sign up to next months awesome sewing box from Sew Hayley Jane. And you don’t want to miss out on this one!
Are you team stripe, team flowery or team plain? Don’t worry, we’re not really making you choose! And why choose when you don't have to? We spotted these blue beauties at Cloth Spot!
A beautiful lightweight cotton is totally what we need this summer! We are dreaming of a gathered skirt in all the prints from Sew Over It!
This dress from Kwik Sew has got it all! An interesting hem line, princess seams for beautiful shaping, a lovely scooped neckline and the best bit, it's made for knits! Secret pyjamas anyone?
