Super swishy dress!

I loved the look of the Lyra dress as soon as I saw it, so I was pretty quick to buy the pattern and make a version for myself.

I used the short sleeves and tiered skirt, and I think they create a perfect summer dress. The skirt swishes about beautifully as you walk!

As with all Tilly’s patterns, the instructions are very thorough and easy to follow. The accompanying photos are also very clear so you can see what you’re meant to be doing without reading the instructions in full if you have a bit more experience. It’s rated as being for improvers, which I think is fair because there are quite a few steps to work through, but none of the individual steps is that complicated.

I made a size 5 based on my bust measurement. My waist and hip are between a 5 and 6, but there’s quite a bit of ease in these areas so I knew a straight size 5 would be fine. I lengthened the bodice by 1.5″, which is pretty standard for me.

I’m really happy with the fit, and it feels lovely to wear!
