Stunning details.

I originally overlooked this pattern because I thought it was maybe a bit too romantic for me. But then I had a closer look and decided to go for it. As soon as I did the first fitting, I was blown away. It fit me like a glove and I was extremely happy with what I saw in the mirror. I used a crisp poplin. Use a fabric with more drape (e.g. viscose) if you want a more fluid look. I made a size 8 because that’s what my bust size fit into. My dress is shorter than it’s originally intended because I’m tall (178 cm) and didn’t add length.

My dress in the printed fabric isn’t showing the details very well but there’s a shoulder yoke plus a front waist yoke and the back waist has shirring. There are buttons all the way down the front. The bodice has little gathers at every seam that is sewn to the yokes. There’s also an option to add shirring mid sleeve but that isn’t to my personal liking.
