Firstly, this is not a hoodie but a half zip sweatshirt. I made size 40 in the tallest size range. The end result is the look I wanted but, getting there was quite a journey. I’m an experienced, but not an expert, maker and found some aspects of this pattern very challenging.
The instructions are difficult to follow and the photos used for illustration aren’t a lot of help. The construction methods for the front pocket, zip insertion, and neck/collar facing are bizarre. Because of this, and despite the suggested fabrics, I definitely wouldn’t recommend making the inner collar and facing from ribbing or anything heavier than cotton jersey. Zip installation would be much easier with a longer zip than suggested. I find it hard to believe the instructions or construction methods were tested by home sewers.
This was my first Vikisews pattern. I doubt I’ll be trying them again.
