McCalls M7513 Jacket – Lined with a Peplum!

A review of McCalls Jackets M7513

This is a really good pattern, with clear instructions and diagrams throughout. My only gripe – which I should have known really – was that I didn’t size down and do an FBA before sewing it up but simply sewed it according to my chest and waist measurements. Being a D cup, it fits me at the chest and waist but is, unsurprisingly, big everywhere else. I’m quite sure had I done what I should have done, this would have turned out to be exactly the jacket I was hoping to make. Well, nearly.
Being bigger chested, I’m not at all sure that the design of the raised front waist seam is one that appeals to me – it merely tricks my eye into thinking that its pulling upwards rather than being an intentional design feature! I may well make this jacket again and ill probably look to level that waist seam out on another iteration.
But as I say, apart from those gripes, the pattern sews up really well and I would recommend.
