A review of Merchant & Mills Clementine Skirt

Excuse the dorky photo! This is my pleased face. I debated about buying such a simple skirt pattern as im sure I have something in my stash I could modify. Well, so glad I didn’t! Merchant and Mills patterns are well drafted. I was very doubtful about the weird shape of the shaped waistband. Turns out it went on perfectly and fits like a dream! Small details make their patterns worth investing in.
I made according to my size. I checked pattern pieces and did a tissue fit. Glad I did.  I also basted all the seams first and made a few minor adjustments.
I like the M template for the pocket, instructions are detailed and accurate.
pattern fits well ( I did lengthen it as I wanted calf length. I didn’t do all the topstitching as I want to wear this for work and topstitching gives it a more casual look.  I also added interfacing to the waistband although you might not need to with denim. This is a brushed cotton twill. It’s exactly the skirt I needed in my winter wardrobe.
