Liking these pants

A review of Style Arc Kew Woven Pant

I made these pants twice because I inadvertently cut a ten which I have never been. The pattern was quite wasteful of 150cm fabric so, when I discovered the mistake, there was enough with a little piecing and an extra metre bought as a remnant to make another pair in the correct size even though I was using corduroy which meant cutting all the pieces in the same direction.

It meant that I got a second go at the darts and openings on the ankles which I eventually bound quite neatly and made the pockets a better fit.

The pattern is nicely cut and all the pieces fit well but the four star is for the paucity of the Style Arc instructions. They require a magnifying glass and are casually vague. Luckily I have made pocket bags in that way before and followed a TATB video to check the zip fly construction. The pattern was silent about folding the fly bearer and about turning over the pocket bag before attaching the facing.

I used lining material for the inside of the waistband and the pockets with a rather light interface which causes the band to look twisted in the picture although it is all right on me.

I wanted the trousers on the short side in order to wear lace-up boots.

The size 10 should fit my god daughter so that is good.

I’d like to add more pics but this seems disallowed even though others have done so.
