A review of The Assembly Line Apron Dress

This is a very uncomplicated assembly. I really enjoyed the speed at which it came together. I used a 10oz Merchant & Mills denim. I got away with it but the bulk of this particular fabric isn’t ideal with the button fastening at the back (something I didn’t consider when choosing the fabric). I decided to permanently stitch together one part of the fold (at the back) so that I only needed to put one of the buttons through one rather than two layers of fabric. It does mean the aperture I’m left with to slide over the hips to get on is a bit on the edge. The fastening design although it looks good would be my only pattern gripe but if you considered the fabric weight and thought about this when purchasing it would not be an issue. The Apron Dress has a ‘workwear’ look and feel and an attractive skirt shape and line. I think it’s very flattering! I love wearing it ~ it’s a winner!
