Have cape – will fly

It all started at the Stitch Festival last Thursday. After promising myself I would not buy anything I ended up with 3m of gold fabric and a cape pattern. Very sensible as always.

I was then racing the clock – it was my 50th birthday party last Saturday and I wanted, no, needed the cape for the party.

It was a quick and easy make – but the instructions are quite sparse so may be a little daunting for absolute beginners. In the end the only thing to complicate is a zip though.

I ended up lining mine as the gold fabric was one sided which was very apparent on the long drop of the cape.

It all came good though with hours to spare. I had a fabulous birthday in a fabulous cape!
