Easy, lovely Make

I made the turtle neck version in Minerva’s Celestial Motion French Terry and I love it. So does my hubby, who keeps saying with admiring glances “it fits you perfectly”. He is generally an enthusiastic cheerleader of my sewing projects, but he especially likes this one! It’s an easy make, suitable for a confident beginner. I cut the skirt in two pieces on the fold in the interests of not disrupting the print. I think the four panels the pattern calls would look great with a plain fabric, but unnecessarily disruptive for a print. One ‘heads-up’ I’d give is, this pattern is not generous. I made it according to my waist measurement, which is one inch more than needed for my bust and 3 inches bigger than my hips. Being busty, I don’t like bodices too close fitting in a stretch fabric and I thought the skirt would be fine with a bit of extra fabric for swishing! It turned out to fit literally like a glove, so I’d say the pattern is about a half size smaller than it should be and I’ll add that in next time I make it. It’s a great pattern other than that though.
