It was the deep pockets in this design that made me snap this PDF up. There were a lot of pages to put together and I got quite confused but that was because my printer only printed half the pages and I had to reprint. Once it was all nicely put together (using a glue stick not cellotape!) it was pretty straightforward – in fact the design would easily suit a beginner. I liked the centre front seam – something a bit different – and I produced the best top stitching of my life! A tip: use an edge stitching foot, the results are much more professional. I am not the biggest fan of gathering – it gives me a headache making sure its all even! – but I enjoyed making this. Its the first time I have put an exposed zip in a garment (usually stick with invisable) but I like the look it gives you. I took lots of care to get the zip in correctly as in the past i’ve messed it up a bit, I marked the zip where the waistbelt meets and that helped, I also used double sided tape to make the zip behave.
