A lovely high waist, wide leg jean

Another lovely pattern by Merchant and Mills – highly recommended if you are looking for this style of jean.

I left off the large turn up cuffs – not really my style – and this reduces the fabric required for the make by the reduction in length, which might be helpful to know for ordering your fabric if you are planning to do the same, so check your preferred finished leg length.

I also sized according to the finished garment measurements rather than the suggested sizing – going down a size at the waist from what was recommended – I wouldn’t want a bigger size – so once again check this when sizing. As they are designed to sit on the natural waist, it is easy to make an ease decision. I had 2cm of ease on paper and probably a little more with the ease in the denim in reality.
