8048 – Dress

My first real attempt at getting back into sewing after a long time away.

Skirt is rather short (and I’m only 5’4″) so added 4″ to length.

Fit is bang on for me – I made the size 18 (I’m generally a UK 14)

One thing that puzzles me – I’ve read and re-read the instructions and despite having a fully lined bodice it seems to want raw armhole seams, not enclosed in the lining. I ended up hand stitching the lining around the armholes (I know there is a way to do it but I’m v rusty and darned if I can remember!)

Final finishing and hem still to go. Overall pleased but instructions need to be more clear.
