A well kept secret - fantastic pattern!

Not necessarily a beginners pattern, first time I’ve dealt with underarm gussets, but the outcome is fantastic. I’ve made the shorter version in Beckford Silk: V&A Eastern Vines with a contrast black silk collar and cuffs / black velvet coloured buttons and everyone thinks it is wonderful - a truly envious blouse!

I’ve also made it in a navy Stone Washed Linen Viscose blend, 380gsm, Higgs & Higgs. This time it is more of a jacket but I didn’t add front buttons/buttonholes as I fasten it with a brooch at bust level. That’s all it needs and it hangs beautifully. An enormously versatile piece.

Also made the longer version in floral cotton lawn which gives it a relaxed day shirt. Right now I’m making another shorter version in Liberty Tana Lawn ready for Spring/Summer - it’s a special bit of fabric that I’ve been almost too afraid to cut since I bought it but I know this pattern will do it justice.

Then I’m going to make it again in the stone washed linen, longer version, but without the curved hems / keeping a split at the lower edge of side seams and plainer cuffs.

This pattern really seems to be a well-kept secret! It has an interesting back-story to it too. Give it a go. Wave the flag!!
