Buy the Hudson Pant sewing pattern from True Bias. The Hudson is an updated take on the classic sweatpant. It has front pockets, an elastic mid rise waistband, drawstring, and cuffs. The modern fit of these pants leaves a bit of extra room around the hips and then tapers into a skinny leg. View A is full length, and View B is midcalf.
This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:
– PAPER (next working day dispatch on orders and FREE UK delivery over £50). This option is only available for sizes 0 – 18 (because the designer currently only prints this pattern in paper format for sizes 0 – 18). If you would like to purchase sizes 14 – 30, please select the copy shop option.

What we think: These are the ultimate joggers. They're a little bit smarter than standard sweatpants. Once you've made one pair you'll be making them for the entire family - there are Hudsons for men and children too!
Suggested fabrics: Medium weight knits such as cotton lycra, french terry, ponte, lightweight scuba and sweatshirt knit with a suggested stretch of at least 25%.
Fabric requirements:
Sizes 0 - 18: 45" (114 cm) and 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: View A, 1.5 - 2 yd (1.4 - 1.9 m) // View B, 1.3 - 1.75 yd (1.2 - 1.6 m).
Sizes 14 - 30: 54" (137 cm) or wider fabric: View A, 2.5 - 2.7 yd (2.3 - 2.5 m) // View B, 2.1 - 2.3 yd (2 - 2.1 m).
Sizing: US 0 – 18 (approx. UK 8 – 20, based on our standardised size chart) or US 14 – 30 (approx. UK 16 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size charts and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Coordinating thread; 2" wide elastic (1 1/2 - 2 yd); 1/4" wide cording (2 - 3 yd); 2" x 1" scrap of fusible interfacing; safety pin; stretch sewing machine needle.
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; print-at-home pattern (25 pages for sizes 0-18, 36 pages for sizes 14-30); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets for sizes 0-18, 2 sheets for sizes 14-30); US copy shop pattern (1 sheet for sizes 0-18, 1 sheet for sizes 14-30).

I love the Hudson pant pattern for pyjamas. I've made a number of pairs for myself and my husband (hacked the women's pattern). The pattern is well written and the sew along on the True Bias blog is really helpful first time around - like sewing with a friend.
The versions pictured are made in organic stretch knit fabrics and I sewed them mainly on the overlocker.
This pattern is a bit casual for me for day wear but I'm sure plenty of people would be more than comfortable wearing these out and about (maybe not in a bat print though).

I’ve sewn this pattern a few times and each version gets heavy rotation in my wardrobe.
I love the pocket style and the fit is just so good and flattering. I also love that there’s a version for men and kids so it’s great for the whole family. This is my go to jogger pattern, I would however recommend interacting the pocket opening though as mine have warped over time. This is one of their older patterns so maybe they will give it an update and a refresh soon
The instructions are ok, but it’s a pretty straightforward pattern so it doesn’t matter too much that they’re a little lacking.

I love the hudson pants! They are lounge wear but also a slim fit. I have fairly narrow legs and ankles and find it hard to find bottoms that fit me well. I have made over a 20 pairs of these and I don't think I will be stopping sewing them!

I love this pattern! I've made two pairs so far; both as loungewear / PJs as part of a set combined with the Linden Sweatshirt. These pants are incredibly comfortable; ideal for sleepwear, loungewear, tracksuit-style bottoms are everyday easy-wear pants. They are an easy sew; suitable for beginners and are a great introduction to sewing pants generally.
The only thing I did differently from the pattern instructions was to add some stay tape to the pocket detail seam to prevent the pocket stretching out over time. I have also not topstitched the waistband - although I love the way it looks - as my weight fluctuates such a lot, I need the option to adjust the elastic at a later stage if necessary!
I can see myself making quite a few more pairs of these; probably at least a third set for PJs and then perhaps a couple more in 'outdoor' or technical fabric for wearing whilst running errands.
