Jessa Trousers - 70s Vibe

One thing that is really missing in my 'Me Made Wardrobe' is fitted trousers so I decided to add to my slim collection with the Jessa Trousers. I love the 70s vibe of these, I was there the first time round albeit as a child so thought I would relive a bit of the 70s as an adult. I have made a lot of Tilly's patterns and as expected the instructions are great. Probably the trickiest part is adding the fly zip but I found the instructions very clear to follow and if you do get stuck there is an extra detailed blog post over on their site that goes into more detail.

I made the size 5 as per my waist measurement but I did end up taking them in somewhat.  I also reduced the width of the flare, at only 5ft 2 inches I think I needed something a little more subtle. I have written a blog post with more details of the alterations I made which can be found here:https://wordpress.com/post/jennylovestosew.wordpress.com/1963

In conclusion, I love how these have turned and I am already thinking about making a second pair.

Shorts!!! - Tilly & the Buttons

So pleased with this pattern which I made as the shorts using this gorgeous minty stretch denim from Sew Me Sunshine. I sewed my first fly zip which was fun, I used the video on Tilly and The Buttons website to help me with the process. It was actually for the Ness skirt but the process is the same and some times for a new technique it helps to see someone doing it! I did have to take in the waist on the shorts and waistband a good inch but that is normal for me. Over all Really chuffed with my first pair of shorts in a good 6 years!
