TAUKO Nietos Coat and Jacket

Buy the Nietos Coat and Jacket sewing pattern from TAUKO. Nietos by Mila Moisio is the ultimate coat or jacket to keep you warm in the winter or provide protection during the transitional seasons. This versatile pattern includes two variations. 

The long coat features quilted padding for maximum warmth. With side slits, an inside pocket, front zipper, press studs, elasticated sleeves, and a protective hood, this coat will keep you cosy from head to toe. The drawstring at the waist allows you to adjust the fit to accommodate layers underneath. Alternatively, you can make an unlined short jacket.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: 

Coat: You will need a main fabric, lining, and wadding/batting. Choose medium to heavy weight fabric like cotton canvas for the main, and batiste or other breathable yet durable fabric for the lining. Use 180-250 gsm (5.3-7.5 oz) wadding/batting.

Jacket: Choose heavy weight fabric with a non-toxic waterproof treatment. Or experiment with wool, plush, or twill for added texture and style.

Fabric requirements: 

Coat: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: Main, 342 - 463 cm (134.7" - 182.3") // Lining, 193 - 356 cm (76" - 140.2") // Wadding/batting, 251 - 395 cm (98.9" - 155.6").

Jacket: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 205 - 321 cm (80.8" - 126.4").

Sizing: 1 – 9 (approx. UK 6 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Interfacing; 2-2.5 cm (0.8"-1") wide elastic for sleeve hems; front zipper; press studs, 13 for coat or 1 for jacket // Coat only: 1.5 cm (0.6") wide drawstring.
