My favourite cocoon dress

I live in a warm climate and so a cocoon dress is a great shape to wear.

This dress has an elegant shape and is not overly full, and so is flattering I think on any shape. It is a simple construction, with lovely details such as the curved hem line and patch pockets.

It looks great worn in the daytime with flats, perfect for shopping or lunching with friends. It can be dressed up for the evening  with heels and a statement necklace,  depending on the fabric chosen. I have made a few of these, all in linen because it suits the dress so well and holds the shape.

This is a dress that I do not think that I will tire of and it is great to pack for a holiday!

Lovely summer dress

I love this dress. I used an Orla Kiley tablecloth I have had for some time which had a stain I was able to cut around. 100% cotton with a linen weave. The crispiness really worked well with this pattern.  I love the cocoon shape and the lower hem in back. Nice to have back of thighs covered when sitting, as it’s very hot where I live and sticking is a problem. StyleArc directions are sparse but not hard figure out if you are experienced. I used a crisper interfacing for the neckline and a bit softer interfacing for the hemline, and it worked well. I will make it again!

My Adeline dress, comfortable and elegantly designed

Loose, confortable and elegantly designed dress. I wore it frequently this summer. It is very easy to sew.

Adeline Dress

I made this in a linen cotton mix which needed overlooking due to fraying. Am a uk12 made an 8 in jersey and 10 in linen. Went together well. Instructions not for beginners as several assumptions made but love style and very pleased with results.
