Buy the S9819 Vintage Dresses and Jacket sewing pattern from Simplicity. It’s perfect for an advanced beginner/intermediate dressmaker. Vintage 1950’s Misses' One-Piece Dress in afternoon and evening lengths with Jacket. A fitted midriff and soft gathers at the bustline fashion the bodice. The full skirt is gathered at the waistline. Short robe like sleeves, gathered at the lower edge and a wide horseshoe neckline are important features of the front buttoned fitted jacket. A pre-pleated fabric is used for View B and ribbon trims the bodice, View C is the shorter length dress. Authentic Vintage Reproduction includes additional size options and cutting layouts.

Suggested fabrics: Dress and Jacket A: Cottons, taffeta. Dress B: Pre-pleated nylon. Contrast B: Cottons, crepe, wool. Jacket B,C: Cottons, velveteen, velvet, wool. Lining (optional): Lining fabric. Interfacing: Hair canvas

Note: Extra fabric maybe needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way design fabrics or shrinkage.

Sizing: K5 (8-10-12-14-16) Y5 (18-20-22-24-26) which is approx. UK sizes K5 (6-12), Y5 (14-24) based on our standardised size chart. Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread. Dress A,B,C: 12" (23cm) zipper, hook and eye. Also for Dress A: Three large flowers. Also for Dress B: 4 1/2 yds. (4.1m) of 1/2" (1.3cm) grosgrain ribbon trim. Also for Dress C: Seam binding (optional). Jacket A,B,C: Four buttons, seam binding, pair of small rounded shoulder pads (optional).
